I Feel... I Apologize and other things 7/8th 3rd hour Blog entry by Molly Strickland



Over the last few weeks we have been working on I Feel... Statments and non blaming Apoligizing. On the left is the apoligizing worksheet and on the right is the I Feel... Statments.








We have also been working on relationSHIPS as illilstated in the poster below. Each group had a diffrent relationship to draw and write about. The things in the water will Sink the ship while the things on the boat will keep it afloat.

Most recently we have been working on communication bridges. The stuff on the brige keeps it from collapsing and the stuff in the air and water can help make it collapse.

7/8 Relationships

Relationships

In Life skills we have been learning and using communication and relationship skills. Our most recent project has been I feel statements. I feel statments are a way of comunicating without causing the other person to become defensive. There are 4 steps:
1. I feel...
2.When...
3.Because...
4.Next time...
The object is to adress how you feel instead of blaming the other person.


We also drew relationships. In or under the water was things that can destry a relationship with whomever it my be. On the ship and/or boat are things that keep the relationship strong. 

                 
We also drew gingerbred men that explain what it feels like to be stressed or relaxed. We disscussed and brainstormed ways to calm down and releve stress.


At the moment we are working on bridges for relationships. like the ships bad things are under the water and good things are on the bridge.
