Peach Pavlova

Peach Pavlova

The dish we made was Peach Pavlova, it comes from Australia.
The leader was Charlie Murgatroyd. My thoughts throughout the process
of making Peach Pavlova was: time consuming because it had to sit in the
oven for 24 hours, we had to beat the egg whites, add sugar, and beat them till
the sugar dissolves in the egg whites, fun because the eggs turned all fluffy and
white and when we added the sugar we had to taste it.

We put the egg mixture on parchment
paper

Zia made the whip cream

Peach Pavlova

The dish we made was Australian Pavlova. I, Charlie was the leader
and I chose this recipe because it is my favorite dessert in the world.
The process was great because the Pavlova tasted just like a normal
one. A week before my family went down to the Palisades in Grand
Junction to have a lobster night with some friends. The Palisades are
big on peaches so my dad made a peach Pavlova with a raspberry sauce.
The only thing that was missing was passion fruit. In Australia, we
grow passion fruit and always put them in our Pavlovas. Otherwise
we used my family's recipe and it turned out great.

Chicken Wings from America

Chicken Wings
One day of our international cooking we made chicken wings and our leader to making those
was Damyon. The chicken wings are from north america because Damyon is from america.
The recipe was fairly easy. We also made our own barbecue sauce, the process of making the
sauce was way easier than I thought it would be. The barbecue sauce was a little thinner than
we thought it would be but it was still super delicious. We made the sauce while the wings were
in the oven. Before we stuck the chicken wings into the oven we made a dry rub and put it onto
the chicken wings. An interesting thing that I noticed is that the barbecue sauce used tomato
paste and I never knew that. We took the wings out of the oven after they were cooked about half
way and put the homemade barbecue sauce onto them and stuck them back into the oven for the
rest of the time they needed to be cooked. Putting barbecue sauce midway through them cooking
really enhanced the flavor because it allowed the barbecue sauce to really get into the chicken wings.
Overall the chicken wings were very good and I would definitely make them again.

Tacos De Lengua

Tacos De Lengua

The dish we made was Cow Tongue Tacos which was literally a boiled tongue
from a cow. It was donated by Parker Pastures the leader was
Jorge Plascencia Beltran, who is Mexican. Cow Tongue Tacos originate
from Mexico. The process was hard to get past the fact that it was a tongue,
but after that it was fun peeling the taste buds off. The tacos tasted amazing!!
The only problem was the time, because it took 3-4 hours to cook.
The tongue wasn't cooked all the way. Other wise I like Cow Tongue Tacos
more than Fish Tacos.

Nalesniki from Poland

Nalesniki
On my day of the international cooking I chose to make nalesniki. I was the leader
because I was the one who chose the recipe for that day. Nalesniki are crepes
from Poland.  I chose this recipe because it was quick and easy yet delicious.
For this recipe all we needed was water, milk, and flour. I think my classmates
really enjoyed the nalesniki and it was a very fun process as well. The research
part of the process was a little hard at first because I didn't know what kind of
recipe I wanted. Once I found the recipe for the crepes I immediately knew that I
wanted to use that recipe because I knew it was quick and easy yet still very delicious.
I also used that recipe because it is something my mom makes at home a lot with
me as a quick meal. I personally thought that the recipe turned out super well! However
I do think that the nalesniki came out a little thicker than usual but that wasn't a huge
problem. I think they came out thicker than usual because we needed to add a little bit
more liquid to the recipe. Overall the recipe turned out very well and I think everyone
was satisfied.

Period 3 seeds

For the seeds we needed to step out of them to get them out of their shells
by stepping on them.
Then when we were done we had to get the seeds separated
from the other stuff, by putting them by
fan and since the seeds are heavier
than the shells and the other stuff the seeds with drop into the
bucket

Pad Thai from Philippines

I took photos for Pad Thai, I was the leader, and the food was from Thailand.
Making it was easier with seven people other than two people at my house,
but we did have to change something’s  from what we did at our house.
It wasn’t as good as restaurants, but  I thought it was pretty good for the recipe.
The sauce was a lot better than when we made it at home, it just smelled better
and tasted better.

I the day I was the leader, I choose to do Pad thai because it’s one of my favorite dishes.

It wasn’t too  hard to find the recipe and making it with my family was pretty easy because
my family already had all the ingredients, and leading it was easy because
I didn't really have to say much.

The recipe turned out good and a lot of the teachers liked it.

The recipe we followed is HERE.

The recipe for the Tofu:

Put the tofu one one plate then put another plate over it then put a pot over it filled
with water to get all the water out. Once you have most the water out, slice the tofu
thin and then put tofu on a pan, and then put soy sauce over the tofu.
Put it in a 350 Fahrenheit oven for 30 minutes.
