7/8 Sauerkraut Making Gone Wrong

10/13/16
My Sauerkraut Experience
By Cecilia Ahrens

In life skills, we made sauerkraut. We cut up the outer leaves of a cabbage plant. It took a lot of leaves to fill up a tiny mason jar. We had them cut up small and then we seasoned them up with multiple spices. We put them into the jar and put half an onion into the jar. We waited a couple of weeks and then we finally ate it. The onion had mold on it and it smelled really bad. When we tried it, it tasted worse than it smelled. I thought that after they scrapped the mold off, it would be good. It just wasn’t. I would not make this again.
